Living and Coping with Diabetes

Hi, my name is Charla. I am four years old. I love to play with my new baby brother Jeremiah. he is 12 weeks old. I am sick with diabetes. I know it is a hard word - I have been practicing.

I need your help to get to a special doctor in New York that can help me. I don’t like getting 4 shots a day - it hurts, and then there are the finger pricks to check my blood sugar at least 3 times a day. I try to be brave and strong but it is not always easy. The shots make me sad and I cry A LOT! Since I found out about the diabetes my mommy and daddy have been working very hard for me - they love me soooooo much!

My mommy and daddy are trying to raise $15,000 to help with paying for medical bills, special diabetes supplies, and to help with our trip to New york to see Doctor Bernstein, a renowned and even revolutionaly figure in diabetes treatment and a diabetic himself.
